Trees. Big ones. That was my [rather nerdy] final wish for a final outing with my family before I finally board that 747 to start a summer in Washington.
So today, we spent the whole day driving up to and enjoying a leisurely hike through Big Trees State Park. I'd been there about 10 years ago, but it was incredible coming back as a grown-up, breathing pristine mountain air and seeing breathtaking Giant Sequoias and hiking until I was short of breath. It was fun to be tourists in our own backyard.
After our historically informative hike, we grabbed pizza from this great little parlor called Mike's, where I sat in front of an arcade game machine that intermittently shouted, "No WAY!" during dinner table talk.

I feel so lucky that I've got close brothers to share life with. And the parents aren't so bad, either. I will miss them over these next 9 weeks.
