Dorm Transformation

Technically, this should be posted on the official Room 212 blog. But since Gail and I haven't officially created that amazing blog, I'm posting it here.

BEFORE: We arrived at our bare and sterile dorm room with a ton of junk.
It was intense!
But then the transformation began. We added:

  • Sheer curtains in muted turquoise and white, which brought length and softness to the room.
  • Ambient lighting, including four separate, strategically placed lamps.
  • An area rug that ties together the "serenity corner."
  • Two "dish chairs" for relaxing seating.
  • A dozen throw pillows.
  • A secondhand white wicker coffee table, so we can host tea parties.
  • A soothing mini fountain.
  • Some perky houseplants, including a ficus benjamima (that one's for my dad).

AFTER:

Here it is -- a room people WANT to be in.
