Here's another issue I was just sick of hearing about -- the abortion issue. Yeah, yeah, it's every right-wing Christian's rallying point. But it's just one little issue amid a sea of other important things, right?
Then I looked on Planned Parenthood's website and I quite literally cried.
Nobody told me this: 1 in every 4 pregnancies ends in abortion. Only 6 million pregnancies occur in the U.S. each year, and 1.5 end in a baby's death.
Nobody told me this, either: 1 in every 3 women in the U.S. will have an abortion by age 35.
It just hits too close to home.
I talked to a lady from a pregnancy help clinic today. She was from Germany and came to the States 30 years ago, starting up the clinic soon after. She takes no pay from this, but actually gives her money to support the institution. She said she did this because as a German, people always asked her why her parents' generation did nothing to stop the Holocaust, the genocide of 6 million Jews. And she cannot answer.
But when she came here, she vowed that nobody should ever be able to say that of her -- that genocide was taking place on her watch and she did nothing to stop it. So she operates her little clinic, she talks, she advocates.
She fights, because the 47 million who already died couldn't fight for themselves.
Absolute Abomination
Sincerely,
Michelle
