Below are a few of the rare photos I´m able to take here in Costa Rica -- this is my older "brother" Jorge and I at a karaoke place with some of his friends. We were going to sing, but I didn´t want to attempt any of the Spanish songs and for some reason they never got around to my request to sing Britney Spear´s song "Lucky." Dangit. Below is a lame picture of a beautiful view just outside the city. We did a team-building activity out in the country, but so far I´ve been mainly braving the concrete jungle here!
Language classes began on Monday -- we´re attending a little missionary training school every day for the next five weeks in hopes that we´ll slowly be easing, "¿que? ¿que?"out of our vocabularies. It´s pretty fun -- I´m in an advanced level and we get to do role play things like pretend we´re on an imaginary city council and advocate the imaginary mayor to remove an indecent statue. And ask an imaginary librarian where the microfiche machine is. I´m getting a kick out of it.
And finally, my Costa Rican mom has some interesting friends. One, named Anita, owns 50 dogs!! Count me out of a visit there! But here´s a pic of one of them, Osito (translated, it´s Little Bear). He´s wearing what the Costa Ricans call a "bufanda" (scarf).
