When you deal with issues like race in the Chimes, you've gotta brace for the aftermath. The girls I interviewed for my article emailed me. They want to talk, in person.
I know I need to hear them out, but my stomach is sinking. I want to be the journalist who shares the truth. I don't want to be the one who messes everything up. I don't even know if sharing the truth and messing things up are mutually exclusive anymore.
So, my inbox and I plant our feet and wait.
