A huge change is currently underway for my parents. This huge change has a medium-sized effect on my own life.
We're moving -- to Grass Valley.
My dad, after pastoring at Sequoia Heights for an impressive 17 years, has taken the position of senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Grass Valley, Calif., population 10,922.
There won't be much of a difference for me, since I live in Southern California most of the time. But what will change in a huge way is that the church I grew up in -- the place where I learned John 3:16 and was baptized and played in the worship band and poured my life out -- will no longer be my home.
Today was my dad's final Sunday at the pulpit. To commemorate it, we actualized one of his longest-standing dreams: the Rindels Family Band. I resisted this glaringly corny maneuver, as did my brothers, but dad and mom won over.
Above is video of our grand finale at Sequoia: all the Rindels joined together for "Blessed Be Your Name."

I watched this--twice. I laughed to the point of tears. Oh, but it was so sweet. Never have I missed you as much as I do know, or the Rindel's for that matter. Don't fear I'll be there for the New Year!
