How is it that we can come through Columbine H.S., Santana H.S., and countless other school shootings and still not be able to prevent a massacre like today's Virginia Tech tragedy?
How can one person mow down 31 people and injure another 30 and not be stopped? How can all security policies and evacuation plans fail? How can the most sophisticated technology of the 21st centuries lie in tatters at the feet of a single-minded, hell-bent terrorist?
And nobody stopped him. Virginia was a place without a hero, or a place with a hero too late.
In a world of nothing but despair, I'm left with so many unanswered questions. And my question today is where was the hero?
Where was our hero today?
Why have you forsaken?
